An article over @ Innovation Hype about the rise of Air BnB.com is very well written and more urgently, one of the most important articles to read in the early stages of a start up.

In a creator economy, If you don’t embrace the internet as a mechanism to go the extra mile. To be authentic and purpose driven the way the companies profiled in this article are, you need to stop what you are doing and think about how you can. 

Even looking past the authentic, experience driven culture of these companies, their business models are simply better. This excerpt from the article sums it up nicely. 

“Think of the difference in margins and fixed costs for a company like Hilton compared to Airbnb. Hilton serves that many rooms with an army of about 135,000 employees, while Airbnb has managed to date with about 10-13.  Think about the capital required for Hilton to add 100 new rooms, $10 million?  $20 million?  While adding 100 rooms to Airbnb requires minimal new expenses–just more hosts.”
